The mainsheet is one of the most exposed parts of a yacht’s equipment due to the extreme level of stress during sailing. The Rutgerson mainsheet system increases the durability and performance of that part due to its clever construction and Roll-link function. The system is built up in modules, which makes it easy to adapt to different types of boat and specifications.

The tracks and travellers are made of high-quality anodised aluminium. Rutgerson is very proud to announce that the product was proclaimed “Best in Test” among other traveller systems available on the market, according to a test performed by the German magazine Segeln in association with Chalmers University (Technical university in Sweden).

The test was designed to give an objective measure of the sliding resistance under realistic conditions, with a vertical pre-load corresponding to rough weather conditions.

“It was found that the Rutgerson slider is superior in horizontal sliding under heavy conditions. Once again it was shown that Roll-links are clearly superior to ball bearings” (German magazine Segeln)

The unique construction of the track system renders the product completely safe. The travellers cannot be detached from the track by force or accident, so even if the product breaks under extreme conditions the traveller will stay attached to the track preventing injuries to the crew and the equipment.

• Maintenance free travellers that will always run smoothly due to the stainless steel link that keeps the rolls apart. This construction prevents any obstruction or clogging with salt or dirt. The roll-link “cleans itself” due to its unique construction.

• Easy to assemble because the rolls are held together with a stainless steel link. The fact that all rolls are held together facilitates both installation and adjustment.

• The force is spread over a larger area, which results in a reduction in strain on the material. The balls in ball bearing systems will deform into an egg-shape under pressure and stop running smoothly. Roll-links will always retain their original shape.

• The higher stress on the product during rough weather conditions, the better performance.

The Rutgerson mainsheet systems come in two sizes (32mm + 50mm) and full loading diagrams are listed with each item so you can choose the correct fitting for your yacht. There are several track types for each size and these are listed separately. The standard track length is 2 metres and that is what is listed here, the tracks are available in up to 6m metre so please contact us if you require a longer length.

The items listed here are in the standard silver anodising, they are also available in black anodising and should you require this finish then please contacts us.
